RETURNING DEMOCRACY TO THE PEOPLE
TOM WORKS FOR PEOPLE, NOT PACS
For too long, South Philadelphians have watched their political power disappear. Big Money donors, super PACs, lobbyists, and other special interests have been buying, selling, and controlling politicians, causing everyday citizens to be overlooked by their elected representatives.
GROUNDBREAKING: TOM SAYS "NO" TO BIG MONEY
For Tom, the return to Democracy for the People begins by eliminating Big Money from Pennsylvania politics. To show his commitment, Tom has pledged to not let Big Money interests buy and sell him.
His campaign will not accept money from PACs and he will not accept donations larger than $500.
This is groundbreaking. It means that every contributor, at every level, will be heard and a valued member of Tom’s movement. Instead of spending his time as State Representative trying to raise huge sums of money, Tom will be passing bills in Harrisburg and serving his constituents at the highest level.
As your State Representative, Tom will continue this work by pushing a wide range of electoral reforms, including:
- Campaign contribution limits. (Currently, Pennsylvania has no limit on how much big donors and PACs can give to candidates.)
- Open primaries.
- Automatic voter registration.
- Early voting options.
- Easier access to absentee ballots.
- Ending partisan gerrymandering.
EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED RIGHT NOW
Tom is elevating politics to what it should have been all along. As he pulls his Little Red Wagon of Change around South Philly, he hears your demands and as your State Representative in Harrisburg, Tom Wyatt will fight to return Democracy to its rightful owner: You, the people.
